The new digital mindset needed by artists...
New media digital platforms provide filmmakers with fantastic tools to capture a loyal audience - not only for one film, but their entire career.
Filmmakers are just beginning to harness the potential of these platforms, to draw an audience in and distribute their films on a global scale.
From passive, to ever-active player in the filmmaking process, learning how to foster audience engagement while developing a film, is therefore invaluable.
But how to identify your audience? Create a successful plan to reach, and foster their activity? When to engage your audience during pre-production and communicate your passion online? On Facebook? Tumblr? … And ultimately, how do you monetize their enthusiasm?
Digital Marketing Strategist for Independent Film, Sheri Candler, helps filmmakers build identities for themselves and their films.
Sheri will be at Binger Filmlab June 10th with Masterclass Audience is Key, discussing the new, digital mindset needed by artists, how to identify and connect with an audience, implement a successful marketing strategy, optimize measurement tools and set a realistic budget for your film.
Dreamers Premiere & Binger's Artists-in-Residence April 16th
Dreamers/Conteurs D'Images will premiere in The Netherlands April 16th at Rialto in Amsterdam, followed by the presentation of Binger's Artists-in-Residence and a Q and A session.
Dreamers, which premiered at Venice International Film Festival 2012, is a documentary which offers a rare insight into the inner world and creative process of eleven renowned filmmakers such as, Jacques Audiard, Michel Gondry, Frank Pierson, Guillermo Arriaga and Akiva Goldsman.
The film poses questions such as: What happens in the mind of a screenwriter or director? How does he translate his ambitions, frustrations, and obsession onto the big screen? And how does he develop his artistic vision?
After the screening, Binger will present their current Artists-in-Residents, Max Jacoby, Rocky Palladino and Emilie Verhamme. In a Q and A session the filmmakers will reflect on their own personal procedures and vision, in relation to ideas brought forward through the film.
